I'm redesigning the front page
#1
If I'm going to frequent the forums, that means I will probably have a browser window open just for it (or wrap it into a "web app"). In the meantime, I am just using a CSS client-side plugin. Here's what I have so far

1. Hid the banner
2. Reduced the height of the header
3. Made the "home" link text transparent and made the background the banner
4. Made the "accountUsername" drop-down text transparent and made the background the user avatar. Removed chevron
5. Hid the "visitorPanel" (since all that stuff is in the profile page and I don't need to see it all the time)

I will be tweaking some more

EDIT: The goal here being to have it take up less space on my desktop

Document your changes and I’ll whip up a new theme.

hahaha...you don't have to do that, this is just for me, but I don't mind documenting my css and sending that to you if others might be interested.

Do it.

It's sort of a minor change yes. But I think it just works.

I made a few more changes

.png   upload_2026-2-12_23-55-39.png (Size: 154.4 KB / Downloads: 27)

1. Hid the "home" link/tab
2. Hid the "hastags" link/tab (until in the future if tags prove useful)
2. Made the "forums" link text transparent and made the background the banner
3. Made the "members" link text transparent and added the font-awesome user icon in its place
4. Adjusted the margins on the body sections to match the right-navigation sections
5. moved the search box to the top nav
6. removed the title bar

I made a few attempts to change the hover behavior for the drop downs at the top, but those are controlled by javascript (jQuery specifically) and I really don't want to do any scripting so I just hid those menus. Overall, I'm happy with what I was able to do with just css.

EDIT: did one more resize on the button/banner

Also let me turn the countdown thing on as well. These should just load up in the sidebar but we’ll see.

When you're happy with it send me the css and I'll whip up a theme
